Shay Mitchell, a Canadian actor and model, is an entrepreneur. Her most well-known character is Emily Fields on the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. Shay Lo is the nickname of an avid Jennifer Lopez Mitchell fan who gained popularity among her friends. As a child she was captivated by her passion of performing arts. She discussed with her parents her dream of having the field of acting. After achieving great results with modeling and dancing her passion for modeling, she decided to try her hand at acting, and started acting lessons in Toronto. After landing a couple of commercials and guest roles in the television show Mitchell received her first big break when she was chosen in the role of Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars. Her performance was well-received by her acting and by fans. She then had her first big screen appearance in Dreamland Mother's Day The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her role in the psychological thriller series You which earned her greater recognition. Shay Mitchell, in addition acting, has taken a leap into the world of writing. She co-wrote a book for adults titled Bliss together with Michaela Blaney.
